Opa, Doener, Poodles, Bread

Here's a goofy little bit of Sunday entertainment for you. I like his emphasis on doener and bread over some of the more typical stereotypes like beer and pretzels.

  2. So weird! I heard another one last night. Have you heard "Barbara Streisand?" It's techno music and the only words are, "Barbara Streisand." Strange.

  3. I'm with Yelli, poodles? Maybe because of the "o" sound?

  4. Apparently, poodles are believed to originated in Germany, but the breeding was formalized in France. So take that for what it's worth. Culturally, I don't know of any German-poodle fixation.

  5. I'm not sure on the poodle thing. Maybe his Opa just has some pet poodles. :)
I haven't heard the Barbara Streisand one! I will have to look it up!

  8. The Germans definitely have an interesting sense of humor sometimes :) I had no idea that poodles originated in Germany, until I read the comment by sarah1976.

  9. This is great - I've just watched it for the second time. Poodles were new to me too, I always thought they were French but thanks for Sarah1976 I now know that, like all good things (or so I'm told by my germanic partner) they originated in central german-speaking europe. lol.
